Practical and durable, the omni-directional soft lighting Chimera Lantern 20″ China Ball, has been used by still photographers, filmmakers and videographers, for illuminating entire rooms with soft, even light. Choose a Chimera Lantern Softbox according to the size of the room, and your working light fixture. The Chimera 20″ Lantern introduces versatility and durability to the soft lighting realm of the traditional Chinese lantern. This lantern softbox comes with a black skirt, which acts as a gobo, and provides more directional control of the light output from your fixture. Hook & loop-attached skirts can be used to selectively block light. This high-tech version of the lantern serves well as a central soft light for round-table interviews and for filling interior shooting spaces with soft, ambient light. Use this size for casting omni-directional lighting for a medium-sized conference room, or for adding accent lighting in a larger room. Lanterns can be set up on any Speed Ring from the Strobe or Video PRO Bank category, but for maximum, omni-directional effectiveness use it on a “bare bulb”-type lighting instrument. Hook & loop-attached skirts can be used to selectively block light. Bobinette scrims are available, to diminish the light output, and any necessary Speed (mounting) Rings are available separately for many manufacturers’ hot lights and strobes.
