Designed by cinematographers for cinematographers, the Atlas Orion Anamorphic 21mm 2X produces a vintage anamorphic look for Super 35-sensor cine-style cameras. The 21mm lens creates a wide-angle field of view with the shallow depth of field found in a telephoto prime. Anamorphic lens characteristics include “waterfall” bokeh, streak effects, and a spherical aberration glow when used wide open. This lens creates twice the horizontal field with the same vertical field of view as a similar spherical lens, in addition to being able to create a wide-angle view with the shallow depth of field inherent to telephoto prime. The mechanically dependable design is standardized across the series for reliable performance, so the unified focus and iris gear positions reduce the need for adjustment when switching lenses on your rig.
