For the Sony A7S3, video is the big story, seeing as it can capture UHD 4K video at up to 120p without pixel binning. The a7S III is also able to record at high speed (240 fps) Full HD video. How many other DSLR/Mirrorless cameras can say that? Sony boasts that because of the improved heat dissipation that the A7S3 can record for up to an hour at 4K/60p. The camera offers both Long GOP and All-Intra compression, with a maximum bit rate of 600Mbps. It can record 10-bit 4:2:2 footage, and both S-Log2/3 and HLG are supported. Full-frame, 16-bit Raw footage at up to 60p can be output to an external recording. Sony’s S-Cinetone color science is based on technology from the professional Cinema Line cameras, and can be used to deliver distinct colors and healthy-looking skin tone rendering that matches the cameras like FX9 and FX6, or VENICE. This color profile offers natural mid-tones, soft colors, and especially well-controlled highlights. The a7S III also incorporates an enhanced 5.5-stop effective 5-axis SteadyShot INSIDE image stabilization system, which compensates for five different types of camera shake encountered during handheld shooting of stills and video. This allows users to confidently use any lens, even adapted lenses, for critical imaging without encountering blur from camera shake.
