Zeiss LWZ3 21-100mm:
Zeiss has had a line of reasonably priced cinema zooms for a few years now, but the introduction of the this lens takes things up a notch. The LWZ3 covers a much longer focal length range than any of their other lenses, and is more than a pound lighter than its predecessors. The 21-100mm will cover most of the documentary shooting situations you’ll find yourself in. Unlike other lenses that are consistent up to a point and then drop off, the 21-100 gradually reduces the T-stop all the way through the zoom range. T2.9 at the wide (21mm) end that consistently stops down to a T3.9 at the long (100mm) end of the lens. The Zeiss LWZ3 21-100mm lens is available in PL, EF or E Mount. The lens is also touted as having a “splash-proof housing,” allowing you to continue shooting when the elements don’t cooperate. The lens is optimized for digital cinematography whether on a DSLR or cinema camera, and will cover image sensors sizes up to Super 35mm.
