Atlas Orion Anamorphic A:
The Atlas Orion Anamorphic A lenses combine the aesthetic of vintage anamorphic lenses with modern convenience, adaptability, and dependability. Orion Series 2X anamorphic prime lenses are built to be a universal filmmaking tool — perfect for the latest professional film and digital cinema cameras with native PL mount or just as easily adapted to Canon EF-based cinema cameras. Orion Series lenses are convenient, adaptable, dependable, and ergonomic, with the best of both vintage and modern features. Orion Series lenses are readily and easily compatible with all mirrorless video / stills hybrid cameras via any PL to mirrorless camera adapter. Whether your project requires you to shoot digital or film, the Orion Series offer the coverage you need with a 24.89mmx18.66mm imaging area and easily covers full frame formats edge-to-edge with the Atlas LF Extender. Atlas Lens Co. Orion Anamorphics are accessible and faithful 2x anamorphic lenses with options for both PL and EF mounts, designed for Super35 frame coverage. The Orion series anamorphics prominently display many of the optical characteristics that cinematographers look for when deciding to shoot anamorphic- long and easy to induce blue horizontal streak flares, vertical focus breathing in frame, notable edge falloff, and exceptionally smooth, dimensional bokeh rendering. Each lens also has respectable close focus for anamorphics, and sturdy housings with a common 114mm front and gear placements. Each lens also opens to a T/2, allowing for a a softer more subdued look when wide open. While optimized for S35 coverage, the lenses can over cover a small amount, and can also be paired with Atlas’ 1.4x Expander to ensure full coverage on large format projects.
