Atlas Orion Anamorphic 21mm

The Atlas 21mm offers the widest horizontal field of view of any Cinemascope format 35mm motion picture camera lens, and is optimized for use on both film and digital sensors. The Orion 21mm represents a previously unattainable wide-angle anamorphic field of view using a front anamorphic system, with a pleasing level of distortion, in a lightweight and compact form factor that will not encumber cinematographers and operators.

Atlas Orion Anamorphic 21mm:

Designed by cinematographers for cinematographers, the Atlas Orion Anamorphic 21mm 2X produces a vintage anamorphic look for Super 35-sensor cine-style cameras. The 21mm lens creates a wide-angle field of view, twice the horizontal field and the same vertical field of view, as a similar spherical lens. A fast T2 aperture enables low-light capture and stopping down to T2.8 or less produces a crisp, flat-field look, with the shallow depth of field found in a telephoto prime. Anamorphic lens characteristics include “waterfall” bokeh, streak effects, and a spherical aberration glow when used wide open. This lens creates twice the horizontal field with the same vertical field of view as a similar spherical lens, in addition to being able to create a wide-angle view with the shallow depth of field inherent to telephoto prime. The mechanically dependable design is standardized across the series for reliable performance, so the unified focus and iris gear positions reduce the need for adjustment when switching lenses on your rig. The 270° of focus barrel rotation enables smooth, precise focus pulls and the mechanically dependable prime lens has been standardized across the series, with unified focus and iris gear positions. Use with the separately available Atlas 1.6x LF extender for full-frame coverage.
