Sony Venice

VENICE combines a newly developed 36x24mm 6K Full Frame sensor to meet the high-quality demands of feature filmmaking. Full Frame offers the advantages of compatibility with a wide range of lenses for a greater range of expressive freedom with shallow depth of field. User-selectable areas of the image sensor allow shooting in Super 35 mm. A new color management system with an ultra wide color gamut gives users more control and greater flexibility to work with images.

Sony Venice:

Providing a flexible design configuration within a single camera body, the Sony Venice 6K Motion Picture Camera is meant to provide you with just the amount of camera you need, so you don’t have to invest in more than necessary. It features a full-frame CMOS sensor with 15+ stops of dynamic range, but in its basic configuration it windows the sensor to shoot Super 35. Remove the PL Mount to reveal a Sony E-Mount with a locking outer ring that allows you to mount your lens and then rotate the ring to secure it, creating a strong mounting system that does not require you to rotate your E-Mount lens when mounting it to the camera. Eight integrated and motorized ND filters range from clear to seven stops of ND in one-stop increments. The camera features a built-in assistant-side info screen, along with a smaller basic info display screen on the operator side of the camera. VENICE achieves high quality and efficient file-based production through Sony’s established 16-bit RAW/X-OCN via the AXS-R7 recorder, and 10 bit XAVC workflows. VENICE has a fully modular and intuitive design with refined functionality to support simple and efficient on-location operation. It is the film industry’s first camera with a built-in 8-stage glass ND filter system. It improves the shooting process, streamlining camera setup.
