RED Komodo X:
Just when you though it couldn’t get any better, meet the RED Komodo X, the latest evolution of the Komodo camera line from RED. The new Komodo X is the same size as the original 6K S35 global-shutter KOMODO sensor, but the KOMODO-X sensor has been redesigned from the ground up, and it sure does pack a punch. We all know that big things can come in tiny packages, and this camera is certainly not holding anything back. It offers quite a few key architectural improvements, while producing the excellent image quality and color science that we have come to expect from RED. Some of the features include enhanced shadow detail and color and frame rates up to 80 fps in 6K and up to 120p in 4K. The KOMODO-X 6K camera melds some of the best DSMC3 features with the notably ultra-compact KOMODO form. The KOMODO-X is compatible with the upcoming PRO I/O Module for auxiliary power and full-size Gold-mount and V-mount battery use and it has a built-in micro plate that enables the direct mounting use of Micro V-mount batteries without the need for an adapter. It also incorporates a full-size, 6-pin 11-17 VDC power input. That works out to be enough power for a full day of shooting.
