American Grip Inc. was founded in 1984. We manufacture our own line of Lighting and Grip Equipment for the Motion Picture, Television and Still Industries. Since day 1, if you have a need for something custom or a special modification to an existing product to help you in doing your job, we can customize it or make something completely from scratch since we make it all in Sun Valley, California. We have in house, a Machine Shop with 3 CNC Machines, a Welding Department and a Sewing Department. Some of the past customized or custom items have been made for Warner Brothers, 20th Century Fox, MBS Equipment Co., Cinelease, Citation Film, Olden Lighting and Individual Grips and Gaffers…. that’s where some of our best ideas have come from… the people in the field.

Menace Arm Kit
This Menace Arm Kit enables you to boom a lighting fixture with either a junior or baby receiver. In the kit is a Combo Stand or Wind Up Stand depending on your needs, a Jumbo Grip Head to mount the arm to the stand, an ear with a 9.5″ anti-sag center post, two heavy duty straps, a Junior receiver with a baby pin adaptor, and shot bags for counter weights. The 15ft boom arm breaks down to two 7.5ft lengths for transport.
Mafer Clamp with 5/8
The Mafer Clamp with Baby (5/8″) Pin is strengthened to withstand greater clamping pressure than any other clamp of its kind. The protective pads in the jaws have also been reformulated for better gripping action.

Junior to Baby Spud Adapter
Machined from solid steel, the Stand Adapter is exceptionally strong. Used to convert a Junior 1-1/8 inch female receptor to a Baby, or standard 5/8 inch male stud.
Scissor Clip with Baby Pin
The Scissor Clamp is used to mount a small to medium size light fixture from a drop ceiling frame. It terminates in a standard 5/8″ Baby stud.
Gaffer Grip with Baby Spud
